A Life Dedicated to Western Design
My name is Jorge Kurczyn, and for more than three decades I have devoted my life to designing and manufacturing authentic Western furniture, luxury handcrafted furniture, and Western-inspired architectural environments that preserve the spirit, authenticity, and heritage of the American West.
I am recognized as a Western furniture designer, custom furniture maker, and architectural designer specializing in high-end ranch furniture, luxury Western interiors, and handcrafted heirloom-quality pieces.
Furniture is not simply what I do. It is who I am.
Born From Western Culture
My passion for authentic Western furniture began in 1997. At that time, I noticed that much of what was being marketed as “Western furniture” was conventional furniture dressed with Western accessories.
I believed the Western lifestyle deserved something far more authentic. Instead of taking ordinary furniture and decorating it with Western accents, I set out to create custom Western furniture born from Western culture itself.
Furniture Begins With People
Every design begins with listening. Before a single sketch is drawn, I spend time understanding my client’s personality, lifestyle, home, ranch or business.
Every project is different because every client deserves something original. I don’t believe great furniture begins with wood. It begins with people.
One Workshop. One Team.
Every department works under one roof in our workshop located in the historic colonial city of Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico. Our team includes furniture makers, wood carvers, upholsterers, blacksmiths, copper artisans, finishers and cabinetmakers.
No single department creates exceptional furniture by itself. Every artisan contributes their expertise to create one extraordinary piece of handcrafted furniture.
Authenticity Above Everything
When we say solid hardwood furniture, we mean solid hardwood. When we say full-grain leather furniture, that is exactly what we use. If a design calls for hand-forged iron, genuine hammered copper, natural cowhide, antlers, horns or solid brass hardware, those materials are genuine.
Real materials possess character. They age beautifully. They develop a rich patina. Most importantly, they honor the traditions that inspired the design.
Built to Become Family Heirlooms
When someone purchases a Jorge Kurczyn piece, they are not simply buying furniture. They are commissioning a custom-designed work of functional art.
My goal has never been to follow trends. My goal has always been to create furniture that will still be admired a hundred years from now.
